People do what they are happy about.
If what you do does not bring you joy, my question is why do you do it?
I am mainly here talking about the job.
I have a friend here who is looking into many differency possibilities for his future career.
I think that is just great.
But based on what do you really look for your job?
Money?
Success?
Fame?
Easy commute or simple labor?
Less challenging?
Can't find no other?
What are you really looking for when you find your job.
I don't know what Americans think in general.
I have talked many Korean young men who are trying to find jobs but really have no idea what they like to do or wish to do.
That is a huge problem in our society.
I know I cannot speak for others.
I will then speak for myself.
Till I came here to the states, I too did not know what to do for my life.
I am a Christian and I pray to God to help me out with that.
What I was missing though I think that I really was not trying out the most probable and suitable jobs for me, at least not in Korea.
I did try here three times. I volunteered at Marian Joy Rehab thinking about physical therapist. PT here is very different job than it is in Korea. I will make a time later to talk about it.
Second volunteer I did was changing the bed sheets in the emergency room at Central DuPage hospital. It was fun and very informative job.
Then I did my volunteer work in diabetic center that also belongs to Central DuPage hospital.
I know I mostly did a health care related volunteers. But at least I did try.
Now 6 years later, I am working as a Endocrine PA at one of the most well known clinics in the area where I practice and live.
And I am happy with what I do and I enjoy going to work.
I think it is important to find out what you like to do.
I also think it is important to find out what suits you.
Most of all, I think it is equally important to try out the most probable jobs that you may end up with before you end up with it permanently.
That was my piece of advice today.
