The Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders, a joint  programme of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and  the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT), requests your urgent  intervention in the following situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Observatory has been informed by reliable sources of the abduction and arbitrary detention of Ms. Shadi Sadr, a prominent lawyer, women's  rights activist working with the "One Million Signatures Campaign",  Director of "Raahi" (a legal advice centre for women), founder of "Zanan-e Iran" (the first website dedicated to the work of Iranian  women's rights activists, and  journalist member of "Meydaan", an online newspaper on women's issues.
