- 얀 다빗손 데 헴 -

              거장 중의 하나인 얀 다빗손 데 헴은 잘 알려지지 않았던정물화 장르가 가진 가능성을

              한껏 보여준 대 화가이다. 위트레흐트에서 태어난 그는 1636년 종교적인 격변을 피해

              안트웨르 펜으로 이주하였다. 주로 과일이나 꽃, 가정에서 사용하는 소품을 등장시키는

              그의 작품은 세속적인 대상의 순간성에 대한 고찰을 보여 준다. 그의 아버지와 아들도 역시

              정물화가였는데, 셋중에서도 다빗 손이 가장 성공한 화가이다. 1669년 위트레흐트로

              돌아가기도 했지만 몇년 후에 다시 안트웨르펜으로 와서 죽을 때까지 그곳에서 지냈다.
