Hiding in the shadows, Alone in the world until now. I am a vampire. And this is my story

Man: An hour’s drive to hear that crap. You know, it wasn’t even a band.  ( 그 쓰레기 같은 연주를 들으러 한 시간을 운전했다니, 게다가 그건 밴드도 아녔어. ) A guy with a guitar. An hour each way (혼자 기타 치고 노래 부르는 남자였다고. 왕복 2시간이야)

Woman: He wasn’t that bad.( 그렇게 나쁘진 않았어)

Man: He sounded like james blunt (목소리는 제임스 블런트랑 목소리가 똑같더라)

Woman: What’s wrong with that?  (그게 뭐 어때서?)

Man: We already have a james blunt. One’s all we need . (제임스 블런트는 한 명이면 족해)

Woman: So why did you come? (그럼 왜 온거야?)

Man: Because I love you (그야 널 사랑하니까)

Woman: Nicely done (감동이네) What’s with all the fog? ( 갑자기 왠 안개지?)

Man: It’ll clear in a second (곧 개일거야)

Woman: Watch out : (조심해) 

 [Tires squealing ]

Man: [Gasping] are you ok? ( 괜찮아?)

Woman: We just hit someone! Oh, my god ( 사람을 쳤어. 세상에)

Man: Call for help (119에 전화해)

Woman: Come on, come on (어서, 어서)

[ animal howls in distance]

Man: Please be alive ( 제발 살아있어라) Oh, my god.  (이런 세상에)

[growls] [gasps][flesh tearing]

Woman: There’s no signal! (신호가 안잡혀) Darren! (대런!)

 [screaming]

  

Stefan: I shouldn’t have come home. [고향에 돌아오면 안돼는 거였다] I know the risk. But I had no

choice. [내가 감수해야 할 위험을 알기에,, 하지만 다른 방법이 없었다] I have to know her [그녀를 알아야만 했으니까]

 

 Elena: Dear diary, [다이어리에게]Today will be different. It has to be [오늘은 달라질 거야. 달라져야만 한다] I will smile and it will be believable [오늘은 진심인양 미소를 지을 거다] My smile say “ I’m fine,

thank you. Yes, I feel much better “ [미소를 지으면서’ 괜찮아, 고마워 한결 나아졌어’라고]]I will no

longer be the sad little girl who lost her parents. [더 이상 부모를 잃은 가여운 소녀가 되지 않을거다]

I will start fresh be someone new [기운차게 새 사람이 될거야] It’s the only way I’ll make it through. [그래야지만 바텨낼 수 있으니까]

 

Jenna: Toast. I can make toast. (토스트 만들어줄까)

Elena : It’s all about the coffee, aunt jenna (커피면 돼, 제나 이모)

Jeremy: Is there coffee? (커피 있어?)

Jenna: Your first day of school .And I’n totally unprepared (개학 날인데 정말 준비를 못해놨구나)

 Lunch money? ( 점심 사먹을 돈 줄까?)

Elena: I’m good(난 됐어)

Jenna: Anything else? (다른 건?) A number two pencil? What am I missing? (연필은? 뭐 빠뜨린 건

 없니?)

Elena: Don’t you have a big presentation today? (오늘 큰 발표가 있지 않아?)

Jenna: I’m meeting with my thesis advisor at..now . crap( 내 논문 담당교수를 만나기로 했지..지금. 

 이런,,)

Elena: Then go. We’ll be fine.(그럼 가. 우리가 알아서 할게) [sighs] you ok? ( 괜찮니?)

Jeremy: [scoffs] don’t start . (말 꺼내지마)

 

Bonnie: So grams is telling me I’m psychic (할머니가 나더러 영매래) Our ancestors were from salem.(우리 조상이 예루살램 출신이거든) Which isn’t all that, I know, crazy (그게 뭐 대수라고) But she’s

going on and on about it, and I’m like put this woman in a home already!  (근데 자꾸 그 얘길

하시니까. 제발 집에 좀 가셨으면 하는데)  But then I started thinking , I predicted obama and I

 predicted heath ledger,(그러다 생각이 났어. 난 오바마 당선과 히스레저 자살을 예견했거든) And I

still think florida will break off and turn into little resort island ( 또 난 플로리다가 조만간 떨어져

나가서 몇 개의 섬으로 분리될 것 같고) Elena! Back in the car(엘레나! 내 얘기 안들어? )

Elena: I did it again, didn’t I?I’m sorry, bonnie (또 내가 그랬구나. 미안해 보니)

Bonnie: That I’m psychic now (내가 영매인 것 같다고)

Elena: Right. Ok, then predict something. About me (좋아, 그럼 예언을 해봐. 나에관해서)

Bonnie: I see..(내가 보기엔) [ both gasp] [tires squealing] What was that? Oh my god. Elena,

are you ok? (뭐였지? 세상에..엘레나, 괜찮아?)

Elena: It’s ok.  I’m fine(응, 괜찮아)

Bonnie: It was like a bird or something. . (무슨 새 같던데, )

Elena: Really I can’t be freaked out by cars for the rest of my life (이젠 차 때문에 겁내기 싫은데)

Bonnie: I predict this year is going to be kick ass. (내 예상에 올해는 정말 끝내줄거야) And I

predict all the sad and dark times are over(슬프고 어두운 시절은 모두 끝날거고) And you are

going to be beyond happy (넌 정말 행복 그 이상일거야)

Bonnie: Major lack of male real estate (멋진 남자는 왜이리 없냐)Look at the shower curtain on

Kelly beach (캘리 비치가 입은 샤워 커튼 같은 옷 좀봐) She looks a hot can I still say ‘ tranny

mess’ (섹시해 보이지만 아직도 싸구려 스트리퍼 같은데)

Elena: No, that’s over. (그만해, 끝난 일인걸)

Bonnie: Ahh, find a man coin a phrase (남자를 찾아서 새로운 표현을 지어내기)It’s a busy year.

Elena: he hates me (날 싫어해)

Bonnie: That’s not hate. (싫어하는 게 아냐) That’s “ you dumped me, but I’m too cool to show it,

but secretly I’m listening to Air supply’s greatest hits” (차였지만 겉으론 쿨한 척 하고, 속으론 이별

노래를 흐느끼고 있는 모습이지)

Caroline : Elena, oh, my god . how are you. It’s so good to see you (엘레나, 세상에, 어떻게 지냈어?정말 반갑다)How is she? Is she good?  (어때? 엘레나는 괜찮데? )

Elena: Caroline, I’m right here . and I’m fine. Thank you (캐롤린, 난 바로 여기있어. 괜찮아. 고마워

Caroline: really?(정말?

Elena: much better (응, 좋아졌어)

Caroline: oh, you poor thing (가여운 것)

Elena: ok, caroline

Caroline: ok, see you guys later (나중에 보자)

Elena: No comment , I’m not going to say anything (노 코멘트야)

 

Jeremy: Don’t take more than two in a six-hour window (6시간 내에 두 개 이상은 먹으면 안돼)

Tyler: hey ,Vicky. I know I’d find you here with the crackheads (비키, 마약쟁이들 여기서 찾을 줄

 알았어)Hey, pete wentz called, He wants his nail polish back (피트 웬츠 한테 전화 왔어, 자기

매니큐어 돌려달래))

Jeremy: pete wentz, huh? How old school T.R.L. of you? (피트 웬츠라고? 정말 취향 촌스럽군)

Carson daly fan? (칼슨 데일리 팬이니?)

Vickie: oh, ty, be nice. That’s elena’s little brother  (타일러, 좀 착하게 굴어. 엘레나 동생이야)

Tyler: I know who he is. I’ll still kick his ass (알아, a 그래도 가만 안둘거야))

 

Bonnie: Hold up. Who’s this? (잠깐, 잰 누구니?)

Elena: all I see is back : (등 밖에 안 보이는데)

Bonnie: It’s a hot back (섹시한 등이지)

 

Secretary: your records are incomplete (서류가 불충분해요)You’re missing immunization records,

and we do insist on transcripts.  (면역 기록도 없고, 성적증명서가 필요합니다)

Stefan: Plz, look again (다시 한 번 봐주세요) I’m sure everything you need is there (원하시는 게

다 있을겁니다)

Secretary: well, you’re right. So it is. (맞네요, 여기 있어요)

Bonnie: I’m sensing seattle and he plays the guitar(시애틀 출신이고 기타 연주가 취미라는 게 느껴져)

Elena: you’re really going to run this whole psychic thing into the ground, huh? (너 정말 영매라는

얘길 진지하게 들었구나?)

Bonnie: pretty much (좀 그렇지)

Boy: Jeremy, good batch, man.

Elena: I’ll be right back. (잠깐만)

Bonnie: plz be hot. (제발 섹시해라)

 

[toilet flushes]

Boy: whoa! Pants down, chick (여긴 남자 화장실 이라고)

Elena: Great, it’s the first day of school and you’re stoned(잘하는 짓이다, 개학 첫날인데 마약에 취해있어?)

Jeremy: No, I’m not. (아니야)

Elena: where is it? Is it on you? (어디있어? 안에 숨겼니?)

Jeremy: Look, stop! I don’t have anything on me. Are you crazy? ( 그만 좀 해. 아무것도 없어.

Elena:: Ypu haven’t seen crazy, Jeremy! (넌 미친게 뭔지 못봤지?) I gave you a summer pass

(여름방학은 그냥 넘겨줬어) but I am done watching you destroy yourself (이젠 네가 파멸하는

Stefan: uh, pardon me. (아, 미안) . Is this the men’s room? (남자 화장실 맞지?)

Elena: yes, um, I was just ,,,it’s a long story (응, 난 그냥,, 얘기가 길어..)
