쉰세번째 이야기
아침이 밝았다. 간밤에 꽤나 추웠음.ㅠ
morning came. the last night was cold.
사막여우 발자국.
foorprints of desert foxes.
우리 여행도우미는 밖에서 잤나보다.
흠.....엄청 추웠을듯.....
our guide slept ouside last night.
i might be very cold....hm...
아침.
breakfast.
음식이 있는 곳에는 어김없이 나타나는 그들.
they are always coming for food.
상당히 외계적인 풍경이다.
it seems like another planet.
진짜 외계 같다.
근데 이거 정말 자연생성인가?

사막여행이 끝나고 가이드랑 사진 한 컷.

카이로로 돌아와서 저녁을 먹고 작별인사를 했다.
이제 진호는 이탈리아로 가고 진혁이는 한국 가고 나랑 수로는 이집트 남아 여행을 계속한다.
짧은 만남이었지만 이 친구들 덕분에 즐거웠다. 나중에 또 보기를.ㅎㅎ
after we came back to Cairo, we had dinner together. then said good-bye.
Jinho was going to Italy, Jinhyuk to Korea. it was nice to spend a time with them in Egypt. see you again!

다음에 인도 가면 큰 북 하나 더 사야겠다. 위에 건 작아서 휴대하기는 좋았는데 소리가 별로다.ㅠ
어쨌든 여행하는 내내 북치느라 심심하지는 않았다.
If I visit India again, I wanna buy a bigger drum. mine above is small so the sound is not good.
anyway, it was fun to have a drum during my travel.
우리가 이집트에 도착했을 때는 라마단 기간이었다.
라마단은 아랍어로 금식이라는 뜻을 가진 말로 이슬람교의 금식기간이다.
이 기간 동안에는 낮시간에 음식, 음료, 흡연, 성행위 등이 금지된다.
다음 목적지인 룩소르로 신나게 달리던 버스가 해가 짐과 동시에 멈췄다.
그리고 차 안에 있던 사람들이 밖으로 나가 밥을 먹기 시작했다.
어떤 아저씨가 우리를 초대해서 같이 밥을 먹었다. 기분 좋았다.ㅎㅎ
when we came to Egypt, it was Ramadan period.
Ramadan means fasting in Arabic. Muslim can't eat, drink, smoke and have sex during the day time of Ramadan.
the bus heading to Luxor, next destination, stopped when the sun set.
the people in the bus came out and started to have dinner.
one guy invited us to his dinner. so nice.
라마단 기간에는 낮시간에 물 한 모금도 마실 수 없다.
한여름에 물도 못 마시는 건 상당한 고역인듯.ㅠ
even they can't drink water in day time.
Ramadan is the hottest season during the year. it is so harsh.
하지만 모든 이슬람교 사람들이 라마단을 지키는 것은 아니다.
며칠 전에 호스텔에서 일하는 아줌마가 대낮에 식당 구석에서 히잡을 쓰고 담배를 피며 밥을 먹고 있는 것을 보았다.
이때 아줌마 표정이 딱 '헐...............' 이거였다. 원래 식당문을 잠궈놨어야 했는데.....깜빡한 것 같다.
딱 걸렸다.ㅋㅋㅋ 하지만 그 아줌마만 그러는 것은 아닌듯.

라마단은 무슬림에게만 적용되지만 외국인들도 라마단 기간에는 조심을 해야 한다.
특히 낮에 음식을 먹을 때는 현지인들의 눈에 안 띄게 먹는 게 좋다.
하루는 길거리에서 음료수를 마시고 있는데 지나가던 아저씨가 나를 보고 화를 냈다.
마실거면 구석에 가서 마시라고....-_-aaaa
not all the Muslim keep the Ramadan.
few days ago, I had seen the the house-keeper of the hostel was having meal with smoke in the kitchen in secret.

Ramadan is only for Muslim normally. but foreigners should pay attention as well.
when they eat or drink something in the day time, should do that in the place where Muslim can't see it.
I haven't known that before. one guy had seen me drinking on the street. he was very angry at me.
룩소르에 도착하자마자 병원 신세를 지었다.
사막에 갔을 때, 마신 모래와 먼지에 병균이 있었는지 목이 부어오르고 열이 났다.
after came to Luxor, I stayed in hospital. my neck was swollen and had fever.
Doctor said, you get infection in your throat. I think there was a virus in the sand from the desert.
엉덩이 깠다.

처음에 병원에 도착하니 의사가 보험에 가입했는지 물어봤다.
없다고 하니까 지금 당장 온라인 보험에 가입하라며 자신의 노트북을 가져다 주었다.
노트북을 키고 인터넷 브라우저를 여니 북마크(즐겨찾기) 1번이 미국에 있는 온라인 보험회사였다.
의사가 시키는대로 10달러를 내고 일주일짜리 여행자보험에 가입하였다.
근데 문제가 있었다. 보험 가입일로부터 3일 동안은 보험혜택을 받을 수 없다는 것.
하지만 의사는 진료날짜를 조작해줄 테니 걱정 말라고 했다.
ㅋㅋㅋㅋ....이 의사, 꾼이다.
when I arrived in hospital, the doctore asked whether I have a insurance or not.
I said NO. he asked me to subscribe online insurance.
he took his laptop. the 1st bookmark on the inter browser was one insurance company in U.S.A..
I subscribed 1 week tourist insurance just for 10 USD.
but there was one problem. I can get benefit 3 days after I subscribe the insurance.
but the doctor said I can manipulate the date.
he is totally cheater.lol
but it is good for me.

이 병원은 이집트 최고의 병원이라고 할 수 있다.
현지인은 이용할 수 없는 외국인 전용 병원인데 모든 의사와 간호사는 영어권 국가에서 왔으며
식사는 코스요리로 나오고 심지어 서빙만 하는 웨이터가 따로 있다.
I can say this hospital is one of the best in Egypt.
locan people can't use here. because here is only for foreigners.
every staffs in hospital, Doctors and nurses, are from English speaking countries.
every meal is course meal. and there was waiter only for food-serving.
모든 방에는 에어컨, 벽걸이TV, 냉장고, 욕실, 무선인터넷이 등이 있다.
there were bathroom, air conditioner, hangable TV, fridge and wifi in every room.
극도로 깨끗한 욕실.
근데 이 사람들 엄청나게 과다진료하더라.
많이 아프지도 않았는데 혈액 검사를 세 번인가? 하고.....링거도 네 번인가 맞았다.
X-ray촬영과 주사도 여러 차례했다.
이 사람들, 이런 식으로 돈 버나 보다....-_-

they were doing over treatment. I wasn't so sick but they gave me so many times of blood tests, ringers, x-ray and injections.
this is how to make money for them.

아팠지만 행복했다. 밖에 나가면 땡볕에 엄청 더웠는데 이 병원은 그냥 천국이었다.ㅠ
시원하고 배부르고....얼마나 좋은가?? 내 여행 중에 가장 호강한 때가 아닌가 싶다.ㅋㅋㅋ
이게 진짜 만 원의 행복!!
I was sick but happy. because this hospital was just heaven for me.
nice place and nice food. I think this time was one of the best time in my travel.
Happiness only from 10 USD.
병원에 묵은 지 이틀만에 3kg이 쪘다.
I got 3kg after stayed in hospital for 2 days.
병원에서 3일 머물고 퇴원했다.
나오는 길에 병원비가 얼마인지 궁금해서 물어봤는데 안 가르쳐주는 것이었다.
왜 안 가르쳐주지??? 이 새끼들 캥기는 게 있는 것 같다....-_-
3개월 후에 집으로 보험료 청구결과서? 뭐 이런 우편물이 하나 날아왔다.
거기에 써있던 금액은 1,700 USD. 3일 치료비로 200만원에 가까운 돈을 요청한 것이었다.-_-
이집트 물가를 고려하면 무지하게 비싼 금액이었다.
하지만 문서 끝에는 Rejected라고 쓰여져 있었다.
잘은 모르겠지만 보험사기 친 게 걸린 게 아닐까? 한다. 꼬리가 길면 잡힌다더니....샘통이다.ㅋㅋㅋ
순간 내가 1,700 USD를 내야 하나? 걱정을 했는데 그건 아니었다.
그냥 병원 손해로 끝나는 것이었다.
어쨌든 난 만 원으로 큰 행복을 누렸으니 됐다.ㅋㅋ
I stayed in hospital for 3 days and left.
I was curious about fee but they didn't let me know it.
after 3 months, one mail came to my house in Korea from the insurance company.
there was written 1,700 USD. it was so high for 3 days staying in hospital compared to the price level in Egypt.
at the end of the d0cument, there was 'payment was rejected'.
I guess that insurance company found that the hospital was cheating.
anyway I don't need to pay 1,700 USD. it is just hospital's loss.
everything was fine with just 10 USD.lol
