How much do you know about sleep?
Scientists have found that there are five stages of sleep.
Stage 1
It's a stage of very light sleep.
Breathing is smooth, but the brain isn't sleeping.
stage 2
The brain begins to slow down.
stage 3 and 4
These are deep sleep stages.
During these stages, the brain slows down more and more.
The person doesn't wake up easily.
Stage 4 is the deepest sleep of all.
Sometimes people get out of bed and walk around during this stage!
Stage 5
The brain begins to wake up again.
During this stage, people dream the
most.
