예배는 사랑의 창조주와 영원한 축제를 즐기는 것입니다

Worship is enjoying an endless feast with the loving Creator.

 

요한복음 4장에서 예수님께서 사마리아 여인에게 예배가 무엇인지 가르쳐 주십니다

(먼저 요한 복음 4장의 이 중요한 사랑의 만남을 읽어보세요)

In John 4, Jesus teaches the Samaritan woman what worship is.

(First, read this important loving relationship in the gospel of John chapter 4)

중동의 타는 듯한 더위 때문에 예수님은 지치고 목말라 사마리아 여인에게 물을 달라고 합니다

Because of the scorching heat of the Middle East

Jesus felt tired and thirsty and asked the Samaritan woman for a drink of water.

 

그러나 사실은 예수님은 그녀에게 그녀의 진정한 갈증과 그것을 없애줄 그분의 생명을 주는 물을 말하고 계셨습니다

But in fact Jesus was telling her about her real thirst and His life-giving water which would take away her thirst.

10절에서 예수님께서 말씀하십니다

"당신은 하나님께서 당신에게 무엇을 주기 원하는지 모르는군요

또 당신에게 물을 달라고 하는 내가 누군지 모르고 있어요

안다면 생명을 주는 물을 나에게 달라고 할텐데요"

10 Jesus answered, "You don't know what God wants to give you, and you don't know who is asking you for a drink.

If you did, you would ask me for the water that gives life."

 

다시 13 절부터 계속해서 이해하지 못하는 그녀에게 설명하십니다

"우리가 마시는 물을 먹는 사람마다 다시 목마르게 되죠

하지만 내가 주는 물을 마시는 사람은 누구도 다시 목마르지 않을 거에요

내가 주는 물은 영원한 생명을 주는 넘치는 샘물 같습니다"

13 Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will get thirsty again.

14 But no one who drinks the water I give will ever be thirsty again.

The water I give is like a flowing fountain that gives eternal life."

 

구약 성경에서 물은 여러번 메시야를 통한 영원한 생명을 약속하는데 사용되었습니다

In the Old Testament, water was used several times to promise eternal life through the Messiah

에스겔 선지자는 성전으로 부터 넘치는 물줄기의 환상을 봤구요

The prophet Ezekiel saw in a vision the stream flowing from the Temple.

예수님은 분명하게 자신이 성전이라고 말씀하셨죠

Jesus clearly said that He Himself is the Temple.

하나님께서 이사야 선지자를 통해 말씀하셨죠

God spoke through the prophet Isaiah ,"If you are thirsty, come and drink water!

"목마른 사람은 누구든 와서 마시라 돈이 없어도 오라 와서 원하는 것을 먹으라

왜 음식이 아닌 것들에 돈을 낭비하는가? 왜 만족을 주지 않는 것을 위해 그렇게 애쓰는가? 내 말을 잘 들어보라

그러면 너는 최고의 음식들을 즐기게 될테니까

잘 집중하거라 내게 와서 생명을 누리라 나는 너에게 다윗에게 약속했던 영원한 사랑과 성실을 약속한다"

If you don't have any money, come, eat what you want!

Why waste your money on what really isn't food? Why work hard for something that doesn't satisfy?

Listen carefully to me. and you will enjoy the very best foods.

Pay close attention! Come to me and live.

I will promise you the eternal love and loyalty that I promised David."

 

이 오랜 약속이 드디어 약속된 메시야이신 예수님의 오심으로 사실이 되었습니다

Finally this long-waited promise came true by coming of the promised Messiah, Jesus Christ.

23절에 보면 "그 때가 이미 왔습니다

지금 이 순간도 진실된 예배자들은 하나님의 영의 인도로 진리를 따라서 아버지(하나님)를 만나고 있습니다

23 But a time is coming, and it is already here!

Even now the true worshipers are being led by the Spirit to worship the Father according to the truth.

이 사람들이 바로 아버지께서 그분을 예배하라고 찾고 계신 사람들입니다

These are the ones the Father is seeking to worship him.

하나님은 영이셔서 하나님을 예배하는 이들도 반드시 진리로 그분을 예배하려면 그의 영의 인도를 받아야만 합니다

24 God is Spirit, and those who worship God must be led by the Spirit to worship him according to the truth.

 

여인이 말합니다

"메시야가 오실 것은 알고 있어요 그리스도라고 불리는 분이시죠 그분이 오시면 모든 것을 가르쳐주실거에요"

25 The woman said, "I know that the Messiah will come. He is the one we call Christ.

When he comes, he will explain everything to us."

 

그러자 예수님께서 그녀에게 말하십니다

"당신에게 지금 말하고 있는 제가 바로 그 사람입니다"

26 "I am that one," Jesus told her, "and I am speaking to you now."

 

이 이야기를 통해 하나님께서 찾으시는 예배가 무엇인지 분명하게 알 수 있습니다

Through this story, we can clearly see what is God-seeking worship.

예배는 하나님께서 우리에게 무엇을 주고 싶어하시는지 아는 것입니다

Worship is knowing what God wants to give us.

예배는 메시야가 누구인지 아는 것입니다

Worship is knowing who the Messiah is.

예배는 예수님께서 메시야이심과 영원한 생명을 주신다는 사실을 믿는 것입니다

Worship is believing that Jesus is the Messiah and that He gives eternal life.

 

영원한 생명은 우리의 상상이나 소원이 아닙니다

Eternal life is not our imagination or wish

그것은 하나님의 사랑하는 아들을 통해 주시는 하나님의 선물입니다

but the gift of eternal God through His beloved Son.

그래서 예배는 바로 하나님께서 그 아들을 통해서 영원한 생명의 약속을 지키셨음을 기억하고 기뻐하는 것입니다

So, worship is remembering and celebrating thatGod kept his promise of eternal life through His Son.

예배는 그분께 오는 모든 이들에게 기꺼이 값없이 영원한 생명을 주시는 하나님의 아들과의 만남입니다

Worship is the meeting with the Son of God who willingly and freely gives eternal life to everyone who runs to Him.

 

예배의 가치는 하나님의 사랑하는 아들의 죽음이니다

Worship costs the death of the beloved Son of God.

그 때문에 예배가 그렇게도 값진 것입니다

That's why worship is so valuable.

예배는 우리에 대한 것이 아니라 모두 영원한 생명을 주시는 하나님의 아들에 관한 것입니다

Worship is not about us but all about the Son of God who gives eternal life.

 

우리가 예배할 때, 우리가 사마리아 여인이 그랬듯이 예수님을 개인적으로 만날 때

When we worship, when we meet Jesus personally just as the Samaritan woman did,

그분께서는 우리의 모든 숨겨지고 가장 부끄러운 죄들을 정확히 드러내십니다

He shows us our hidden and most shameful sins exactly.

그녀처럼 우리도 충격에 빠지고 구원자가 필요함을 예수님께서 바로 그분임을 인정하게 됩니다

We get shocked like her and we admit that we need the Savior and that Jesus is the one.

 

영과 진리로 드리는 예배는 약속된 구원자를 직접 만나는 것입니다

Worship in spirit and truth means meeting with the promised Savior in person.

남들이 하는 이야기 때문이 아니라 그분께서 개인적으로 직접 말씀하시는 것이죠

Not because of what others say, but because of what He says to you personally.

그것이 바로 참된 영적인 예배입니다

That is true and spiritual worship.

 

42절에 보면 한 여인을 통해 예수님을 직접 만나게 된 동네 사람들이 그녀에게 와서 말합니다

"이제는 더 이상 당신 말 때문에 예수님을 믿는게 아닙니다 우리도 직접 그분을 만났습니다

그리고 그분이 세상의 구원자이심을 확신하게 되었어요

42 They told the woman, "We no longer have faith in Jesus just because of what you told us. We have heard him ourselves,

and we are certain that he is the Savior of the world!"

 

예배드릴 때 인간의 전통과 가르침에 집중하기 위해 그 아들을 거절한다면

하나님께서 우리를 만나지 않으십니다

When worshiping, if we reject the Son in order to focus on human traditions or teachings,

God refuses to meet with us.

 

시편 2편 12절에 "그 아들 메시아에게 입맞추라! 그렇지 않으면 그분의 분노가 금방 폭발하리라

그러나 그분께서 아들에게 달려오는 모두를 보호하고 축복하시리

Psalm 2:12 says," Kiss the Son, Messiah! because if you don't, His anger is about to explode,

But He blesses and protects everyone who runs to him."
