Her household motions light and free, 가사를 돌보는 동작 가벼우면서 자유롭고, And steps of virgin-liberty; 처녀의 자유로운 발걸음; A countenance in which did meet 아름다운 기록과, 아름다운 기약이 Sweet records, promises as sweet; 함께 만나는 얼굴, A creature not too bright or good 인간의 일상 음식에도 For human nature's daily food, 일시적인 슬픔, 어리석은 간계 For transient sorrows, simple wiles, 칭찬, 꾸중, 사랑, 키스, 눈물, 그리고 미소에도 Praise, blame, love, kisses, tears, and smiles. 알맞게 빛나고 훌륭한 한 여인. And now I see with eye serene 지금 나는 고요한 눈으로 The very pulse of the machine; 바로 그녀의 몸의 고동(鼓動)을 본다; A Being breathing thoughtful breath, 사색에 찬 숨결을 쉬는 한 존재, A Traveller between life and death; 삶과 죽음 사이의 여행자; The reason firm, the temperate will, 확고한 이성, 절도 있는 의지, Endurance, foresight, strenght, and skill; 인내심, 통찰력, 힘, 그리고 숙련(熟練); A perfect Woman, nobly planned 경고하고, 위로하고, 명령하도록 To warn, to comfort, and command; 하느님이 설계한 완전한 여자; And yet a Spirit still, and breght 그러면서도 여전히 한 정령(情靈) 그리고, With something of angelic light. 무슨 천사 같은 빛으로 환히 빛난다.
