시편 5장 1절 - 12절
1. 여호와여 나의 말에 귀를 기울이사
나의 심사를 통촉하소서.
Give ear to my words, O LORD,
consider my sighing.
2. 나의 왕, 나의 하나님이여 나의 부르짖는
소리를 들으소서. 내가 주께 기도하나이다.
Listen to my cry for help,
my King and my God, for to you I pray
3. 여호와여 아침에 주께서 나의 소리를 들으시리니
아침에 내가 주께 기도하고 바라리이다.
In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice ;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait in expectation
4. 주는 죄악을 기뻐하는 신이 아니시니
악이 주와 함께 유하지 못하며
You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil;
with you the wicked cannot dwell.
5. 오만한자가 주의 목전에 서지 못하리이다.
주는 모든 행악자를 미워하시며
The arrogant cannot stand in your Presence ;
you hate all who do wrong.
6. 거짓말하는 자를 멸하시리이다. 여호와께서는
피흘리기를 즐기고 속이는자를 싫어하시나이다.
You destroy those who tell lies;
bloodthirsty and deceitful men the LORD abhors.
7. 오직 나는 주의 풍성한 인자를 힘입어 주의 집에
들어가 주를 경외함으로 성전을 향하여 경배하리이다.
But I, by your great mercy, will come into your house;
in reverence will I bow down toward your holy temple.
8. 여호와여 나의 원수들을 인하여 주의의로
나를 인도하시고 주의 길을 내 목전에 곧게 하소서
Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness
because of my enemies-
make straight your way before me.
9. 저희 입에 신실함이 없고 저희 심증이 심히 악하며
저희 목구멍은 열린 무덤 같고 저희 혀로는 아첨하나이다.
Not a word from their mouth can be trusted;
their heart is filled with destruction.
Their throat is an open grave;
with their tongue they speak deceit
10. 하나님이여 저희를 정죄 하사 자기 꾀에 빠지게
하시고 그 많은 허물로 인하여 저희를 쫒아 내소서
저희가 주를 배역함이니라.
Declare them guilty, O God!
Let their intrigues be their downfall.
Banish them for their many sins,
for they have rebelled against you.
11. 오직 주에게 피하는 자는 다 기뻐하며
주의 보호로 인하여 영영히 기뻐외치며 주의 이름을
사랑하는 자들은 주를 즐거워하리이다.
But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy
Spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may rejoice in you
12. 여호와여 주는 의인에게 복을 주시고
방패로 함같이 은혜로 저를 호위하시리이다.
For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield

주께 피하는 자의 기쁨
악인들로 인해 환난에 처한자의 보호 요청과
그 보호를 얻은 자의 기쁨의 노래로 이루어진다.
본시의 특징은 윤리성의 강조에 있는 바
하나님의 거룩함은 곧바로 모든 인간의 거룩함을
요구하며 , 오직 그 거룩성에 순복하는 자만이
보호의 기쁨을 얻을 것임을 강력히 표출하고 있다.
