The Worst is not, So long as we can say

"This is the worst"

"지금이 최악의 상태이다"라고 말할 수 있을 때는 우리가

최악의 상태에 놓여 있는 것이 아니다.

This not the many oaths that makes truth,

But the plain single vow that os vowed true.

진실은 숱하게 늘어놓는 맹세가 아니라 진실하고도 소박

한 한 가지 맹세일 뿐이다.

 Truh hath quiet breast.

진리는 조용한 목소리를 갖고 있다.

Their eyes do offices do of truth.

눈은 진실을 말한다.

For truth hath better deeds than words to grace

it.

진실은 행동으로 말할 뿐, 그것을 꾸미는 말이 없다.

As there comes light from  heaven and words

fron breath, As there is sense in truth and truth

in virtue.

하늘에서 빛이 오고 호흡에서 말이 오듯, 진리 속에 뜻이

있고 미덕 속에 진실이 있다.

My words fly up, my thoughts remain below:

Words without thoughts never to heaven go.

나의 기도는 하늘로 날아오르지만, 나의 마음은 지상에

그대로 남아 있구나. 마음이 따르지 않는 빈말은 하늘에

닿지 못하는구나.
