창 조
하느님이 지구와 하늘, 꽃과 나무를 만들고나서,
모든 동물과 물고기, 새와 꿀벌을 만들었습니다.
하느님은 그 어느 생명체도 똑같지가 않다는걸 알아채고,
"내가 만든 이 세상을다니면서 하나하나 이름을 지어줘야지" 하고 말했습니다.
그는 아주멀리 넓은곳을, 자유롭게 여행했고
그가 어느곳을 가던지, 작은 동물들이 힘이 다할때까지
그를 따라다녔어요
모든 땅과 하늘과 바다에 사는 것들에 이름이 붙혀졌을때
한 작은 동물이 물었어요
"하느님...나에게 남은 이름은 없는건가요?"
하느님은 부드럽게 대답했어요
"너를위해 마지막까지 남겨놓은 이름이 있단다..
내 이름을 거꾸로해서 네이름을 DOG라고 부를꺼야 나의 친구"

The Creation
When God had made the earth and sky
the flowers and the trees,
He then made all the animals
the fish, the birds and bees.
And when at last He'd finished
not one was quite the same.
He said, "I'll walk this world of mine
and give each one a name."
And so He traveled far and wide
and everywhere He went,
a little creature followed Him
until it's strength was spent.
When all were named upon the earth
and in the sky and sea,
the little creature said, "Dear Lord,
there's not one left for me."
Kindly the Father said to him,
"I've left you to the end.
I've turned my own name back to front
and called you dog, My friend."
