Carol King(본명: Carol Klein)은 1942년 뉴욕의 브룩클린에서 태어났고,
4살 때 피아노를 치며 음악을 접하기 시작 유년시절부터 음악에 남다른
관심과 재능을 보여 고등학교 시절에는 Co-Sines라는 그룹을 조직하여
멤버로 활동하기도 하였다. 그녀는 매우 서정적이고 아름다운 것으로
유명하며, 최초의 히트작 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow'는 많은 가수들이
노래하였다.
또한 드립터스의 곡 'When My Little Girl Is Smiling'과
'Some Kind Of Wonderful'을 위시해 바비 비가 히트시킨
'Take Good Care Of My Baby', 에벌리 브라더스의 'Crying In The Rain',
애니멀즈의 'Don't Bring Me Down'등이 유명하며 1970년 7월 데뷔앨범
Writer를 발표하여 'Up On The Roof', 'Goin' Back',
'No Easy Way Down' 등을 히트시켰다.
그후 71년 3월 2집 Tapestry를 내놓아 서정적인 'It's Too Late'와
감미로운 멜로디의 'You've Got A Friend'과 'So Far Away'등을
대히트시켜 앨범 판매가 1400만매를 넘어 음악계를 놀라게 하였다.

하겠다는 친구의 따뜻한 우정을 담은 노래이다.
