산타페 등 각종 CF, 영화 ,드라마에 감초처럼 등장하는 곡..
"Wild Cherry" 은 1974년 미국 오하이오주 스튜벤빌에서
5인조로 구성됐고, 밴드 리더인 "랍 파리시"가 밴드 이름을
그 당시 감기약 이름인 "와일드 체리"로 명명 했다.
"Wild Cherry"는 81년 해산때가지 5장의 앨범을
발매했는데 76년도 불멸의 히트곡 "Play That Funky Music"
하나만 남기고 81년 해체 되었다.
이 노래는 1976년 발표해서 빌보드 차트에 18주간 올랐으며
76년도 9월 18일부터 3주간 1위를 한 음악으로 경쾌한 리듬의
"Play That Funky Music"는 삶에 활력을 충전시키기 좋은 노래인데
