일을 행하시는 여호와, 그것을 만들며 성취하시는 여호와, 그의 이름을 여호와라 하는 이가 이와 같이 이르시도다
너는 내게 부르짖으라 내가 네게 응답하겠고 네가 알지 못하는 크고 은밀한 일을 네게 보이리라 (렘33:1-3)

While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the LORD came to him a second time:
"This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it--the LORD is his name:
'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.'

그러므로 내 사랑하는 형제들아 견실하며 흔들리지 말고 항상 주의 일에 더욱 힘쓰는 자들이 되라 이는 너희 수고가 주 안에서 헛되지 않은 줄 앎이라
(고전15:58)

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

그 날에 여호와께서 그의 견고하고 크고 강한 칼로 날랜 뱀 리워야단 곧 꼬불꼬불한 뱀 리워야단을 벌하시며 바다에 있는 용을 죽이시리라
그 날에 너희는 아름다운 포도원을 두고 노래를 부를지어다
나 여호와는 포도원지기가 됨이여 때때로 물을 주며 밤낮으로 간수하여 아무든지 이를 해치지 못하게 하리로다
나는 포도원에 대하여 노함이 없나니 찔레와 가시가 나를 대적하여 싸운다 하자 내가 그것을 밟고 모아 불사르리라
그리하지 아니하면 내 힘을 의지하고 나와 화친하며 나와 화친할 것이니라
후일에는 야곱의 뿌리가 박히며 이스라엘의 움이 돋고 꽃이 필 것이라 그들이 그 결실로 지면을 채우리로다 (사27:1-6)

 In that day, the LORD will punish with his sword, his fierce, great and powerful sword, Leviathan the gliding serpent, Leviathan the coiling serpent; he will slay the monster of the sea.
In that day-- "Sing about a fruitful vineyard:
I, the LORD, watch over it; I water it continually. I guard it day and night so that no one may harm it.
I am not angry. If only there were briers and thorns confronting me! I would march against them in battle; I would set them all on fire.
Or else let them come to me for refuge; let them make peace with me, yes, let them make peace with me."
In days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will bud and blossom and fill all the world with fruit.

이것이 노아의 족보니라 노아는 의인이요 당대에 완전한 자라 그는 하나님과 동행하였으며
세 아들을 낳았으니 셈과 함과 야벳이라
그 때에 온 땅이 하나님 앞에 부패하여 포악함이 땅에 가득한지라
하나님이 보신즉 땅이 부패하였으니 이는 땅에서 모든 혈육 있는 자의 행위가 부패함이었더라
하나님이 노아에게 이르시되 모든 혈육 있는 자의 포악함이 땅에 가득하므로 그 끝 날이 내 앞에 이르렀으니 내가 그들을 땅과 함께 멸하리라
너는 고페르 나무로 너를 위하여 방주를 만들되 그 안에 칸들을 막고 역청을 그 안팎에 칠하라
 
This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God.
Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth.
Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight and was full of violence.
God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways.
So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.
So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.

온 땅의 언어가 하나요 말이 하나였더라
이에 그들이 동방으로 옮기다가 시날 평지를 만나 거기 거류하며
서로 말하되 자, 벽돌을 만들어 견고히 굽자 하고 이에 벽돌로 돌을 대신하며 역청으로 진흙을 대신하고
또 말하되 자, 성읍과 탑을 건설하여 그 탑 꼭대기를 하늘에 닿게 하여 우리 이름을 내고 온 지면에 흩어짐을 면하자 하였더니
여호와께서 사람들이 건설하는 그 성읍과 탑을 보려고 내려오셨더라
여호와께서 이르시되 이 무리가 한 족속이요 언어도 하나이므로 이같이 시작하였으니 이 후로는 그 하고자 하는 일을 막을 수 없으리로다
자, 우리가 내려가서 거기서 그들의 언어를 혼잡하게 하여 그들이 서로 알아듣지 못하게 하자 하시고
여호와께서 거기서 그들을 온 지면에 흩으셨으므로 그들이 그 도시를 건설하기를 그쳤더라 (창 6:9-14, 11:1-8)

Now the whole world had one language and a common speech.
As men moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.
They said to each other, "Come, let's make bricks and bake them thoroughly." They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar.
Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth."
But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building.
The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.
Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."
So the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city.

예수께서 거기서 나가사 두로와 시돈 지방으로 들어가시니
가나안 여자 하나가 그 지경에서 나와서 소리 질러 이르되 주 다윗의 자손이여 나를 불쌍히 여기소서 내 딸이 흉악하게 귀신 들렸나이다 하되
예수는 한 말씀도 대답하지 아니하시니 제자들이 와서 청하여 말하되 그 여자가 우리 뒤에서 소리를 지르오니 그를 보내소서
예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 나는 이스라엘 집의 잃어버린 양 외에는 다른 데로 보내심을 받지 아니하였노라 하시니
여자가 와서 예수께 절하며 이르되 주여 저를 도우소서

Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession."
Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, "Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us."
He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."
The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said.

대답하여 이르시되 자녀의 떡을 취하여 개들에게 던짐이 마땅하지 아니하니라
여자가 이르되 주여 옳소이다마는 개들도 제 주인의 상에서 떨어지는 부스러기를 먹나이다 하니
이에 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 여자여 네 믿음이 크도다 네 소원대로 되리라 하시니 그 때로부터 그의 딸이 나으니라 (마 15:21-28)

He replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs."
"Yes, Lord," she said, "but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table."
Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted." And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

그는 진리의 영이라 세상은 능히 그를 받지 못하나니 이는 그를 보지도 못하고 알지도 못함이라 그러나 너희는 그를 아나니 그는 너희와 함께 거하심이요 또 너희 속에 계시겠음이라
내가 너희를 고아와 같이 버려두지 아니하고 너희에게로 오리라 (요 14:17-18)

the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

여호와께서 이르시되 나의 영이 영원히 사람과 함께 하지 아니하리니 이는 그들이 육신이 됨이라 그러나 그들의 날은 백이십 년이 되리라 하시니라 (창6:3)

Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal ; his days will be a hundred and twenty years."
