Walking on the road to Jerusalem
예루살렘으로 걸어 가고있었죠
The time had come to sacrifice again
제사드릴 때가 다가와거든요.
My two small sons they walked beside me down the road
내 두 아들이 나를 따라 왔어요
The reason that they came was to watch the lamb
제물로 들릴 양을 지키기 위해서죠
They said, Daddy, daddy what will we see there
아이들이 물었어요, "아버지, 우린 도대체 무엇을 보게될건가요?"
There’s so much that we don’t understand
"우린 너무 이해 할수 없는것을이 많아요"
So I told them of Moses and Father Abraham
그래서 난 아이들에게 모세와 아브라함에 대한 이야기를 해줬죠.
And then I said dear children watch the lamb
그리고 나서 사랑하는 아이들에게 양을 잘 보고 있으라고 이야기 해줬죠.
There will be so many in Jerusalem today
"오늘 예루살렘에는 많은 사람들이 있을거야"
We must be sure this little lamb doesn’t run away
"양이 도망가지 않케 잘 봐야한다"
And I told them of Moses and Father Abraham
그래서 난 아이들에게 모세와 아브라함에 대한 이야기를 해줬죠.
And then I said dear children watch the lamb
그리고 나서 사랑하는 아이들에게 양을 잘 보고 있으라고 이야기 해줬죠.
When we reached the city
우리가 그 도시에 도착했을 때
I knew something must be wrong
뭔가 잘못됬다는걸 알게 되었어요
There were no joyful worshippers
그 곳에는 기쁘게 예배하는 사람들도 없었고
there were no joyful worship songs
그 곳에는 즐거운 경배의 노래도 없었거든요.
And I stood there with my children
그리고 나와 아이들은
in the midst of angry men
성난 군중들 속에 서있었죠
Then I heard the crowd cry out,
그 때 무리의 외치는 소리가 들렷어요
Let’s crucify Him
"그를 십자가에 못 박으라!"
We tried to leave the city but we could not get away
우리는 이 도시를 빠져 나오려고 했으나 그럴 수 없었고....
Forced to play in this drama a part I did not want to play
참여하고 싶지 않은 이 드라마에 억지로 참여하게 되죠.
Why upon this day were men condemned to die
왜 하필 이 날에 사람들은 죽이려고 결정했을까
Why were we standing right here
왜 하필 곧 군중들이 지나갈
where soon they would pass by
바로 이 자리를 우리가 지나게 되었을까?
I look and I said even now they come
난 군중들을 보고 그들이 지금 오고 있다고 얘기했다.
The first one cried for mercy,
첫 번째 사람은 자비를 달라고 울부짖었지만
the people gave him none
사람들은 그에게 아무것도 주지 않았죠
The second one was violent and he was arrogant and loud
두 번째 사람은 폭력적이었고 분노하며 소리지르며 지나갔죠.
I still can hear his angry voice screaming at the crowd
난 군중속에서 비명 지르는 그의 화난 음성을 들을 수 있었어요
Then someone said there’s Jesus
그때 누군가가 말했어요 "저기 예수가 있다!".
and I scarce believed my eyes
난 내 눈을 의심할 수밖에 없었어요

그 남자는 죽을때까지 고통 당하여, 겨우 숨을 쉬고 있는것만 같았어요
Blood poured from His body from the thorns on His brow
그의 이마의 가시관으로부터 피는 흐르고
Running down the cross and falling to the ground
십자가를 타고 내려와 땅에 뚝뚝 떨어지고 있었죠.
I watched Him as He struggled
내가 그럴 볼때, 그는 몸부림치고 있었고
and I watched Him when He fell
그가 쓰러졌을 때 그의 등을 누르고 있는 십자가를 보았죠.
The cross came down upon His back,
십자가가 그의 등에서 떨어졌고
the crowd began to yell
군중들은 야유를 퍼 부었어요.
In that moment I felt such agony in that moment
내게 커다란 고통이 느껴지던 그 순간
I felt such loss
큰 상실감이 느껴지던 그 순간
Until a Roman soldier grabbed my arm and screamed
로마 병사가 내 팔을 잡고 소리 질죠.
"you carry His cross"
"네가 그의 십자가를 지고 가라!!"
At first I tried to resist him
처음엔 그에게 저항했지만
but his hand reached for his sword
병사의 들의 칼이 저를 향했죠.
And so I knelt and I took the cross from the Lord
어쩔수 없이 십자가를 지고 가게 되었죠
I put it on my shoulder we started down the street
십자가를 지고 길을 내려갔어요
The blood that He’d been shedding was running down my cheek
그가 흘린 핏방울이 내 뺨을 타고 흘러 내려요.
They led us to Golgotha
그들은 우리를 골고다로 이끌었고
they drove nails deep in His feet and hands
주님의 손과 발에 못을 깊숙히 박았죠.
On the cross I heard Him pray "Father forgive them"
십자가에서 그가 "아버지여 저들을 용서하소서"라고 기도 하시는데,
Never have I seen such love in any other eyes
그의 눈에 들어나는 사랑은 본적이 없었죠..
"Into They hands I commit My spirit"
"아버지 손에 내 영혼을 맡기나이다."
He prayed and then He died
주님은 기도했고...그후, 돌아가셨죠
I stood for what seemed like years lost all sense of time
난 수년이 지나는 것 같은 느낌을 받으며 그 곳에 서 있었어요
Then I felt these little hands holding on to mine
그 때 난 내 손을 잡고 있는 작은 손을 보고 뒤돌아보니
My children stood there weeping
아이들이 울며 서 있있었어요
and I heard the oldest say
큰 아이가 말하기를
Father please forgive us the lamb ran away
"아버지 용서해 주세요. 양이 도망가 버렸어요."
Daddy, daddy what have we seen here
"아버지 우린 이곳에서 무엇을 본거죠?"
There’s so much that we don’t understand
"여기는 너무 이해되지 않는게 많아요."
So I took them in my arms we turned and faced the cross
그때 난 아이들을 안고 십자가를 향해 돌아서서
And I said dear children
사랑하는 아이들에게 이야기 했죠
Watch the Lamb
"저 양을 보아라...........!!"
