Albert Einstein

In 2000, Time Magazine announced Albert Einstein as "the Person of the 20th Century." As Time said, he was the person who "literally changed the way we think and live."
Einstein was a physicist who challenged some of basic principles in physics that had been accepted by scintists for almost 300years, since the work of Isaac Newton.
He was also an accomplished writer, violinist and one of the most influential political voices of the 20th century.
When Israel was founded after Worle War 2, he was asked to become the first president of the new nation.
However, during and after his lifetime, what ordinary people enjoyed most about Einstein was his legendary image rather than his theoris and other a complishments.
For instance, his somewhat disorganized appearance-wide, open eyes, messy hair and careless clothing-intrigued people.
To many in his day, he was also seen as an odd old man rather than a great genius and scientist.
In fact, there are may stories surrounding his cxtraordinary personality and behavior. When he was still a boy, his teacher at school told Einstein's father, "It doesn't matter what field he foes into, he'll never make a success of anything."
During his college days, his wife and best friends had to keep reminding him to do basic things, such as to eat and go to class.
After he became famous, he began charging people who asked for his autograph.
He would ask for a dollar befor signing and gave the money to charities. While teaching at Princeton University, EInstein once decided not to wear socks when he went to lectures, as is shown in pictures still kept at the school.
When he was invited to Buckingham Palace and had a chance to play violin with the young Queen Elizabeth, he stopped playing in the middle to complain to the queen that she played too loudly.
Another lehendary incident further showed his forgetfulness.
At princeton one day, Einstein was on his way back to his office after having lunch.
While walking, he began to sit quietly and think on the problems of space and time, which were two of his favorite subjects.
When he returned to his office, he read his own sign, "Gone to Lunch. Be Back In 10MInutes."
Later, he was found by his fellow progessors sitting outside his office, waiting for himself to come back.
