천국은 창조주와 인간 모두의 필요를 채워줍니다
Heaven meets the needs of both the Creator and people.
사람들은 영원한 집을 원합니다
영화나 소설 노래 등을 통해서나마 영원한 친밀함을 꿈꿉니다
그런데 요한계시록 21장은 이 꿈이 반드시 천국에서 이루어질 것이라고 말합니다
People want an eternal home.
People are dreaming of eternal intimacy just through movies, novels and songs etc.
But, Revelation 21 says that this dream will surely come true in heaven.
그 때에 나는 왕좌에서 큰 음성이 울려 나오는 것을 들었습니다.
"보아라, 하나님의 집이 사람들 가운데 있다.
하나님이 그들과 함께 계실 것이요, 그들은 하나님의 백성이 될 것이다.
하나님이 친히 그들과 함께 계시고, 그들의 눈에서 모든 눈물을 닦아 주실 것이니,
다시는 죽음이 없고, 슬픔도 울부짖음도 고통도 없을 것이다.
이전 것들이 다 사라져 버렸기 때문이다." (21;3-4)
21: 3 I heard a loud voice shout from the throne:
God's home is now with his people. He will live with them, and they will be his own.
Yes, God will make his home among his people.
4 He will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain.
These things of the past are gone forever.
하나님과 그분의 사람들의 약속을 표어로 하면 어떻게 될까요?
'나는 그들의 하나님이 되고 그들은 나의 사람들이 될 것이다'
구약의 기간동안 하나님께서는 그분의 백성들 가운데 사셨습니다
그러나 이것은 외부적인 관계였습니다
반면에 예수님을 통해서 하나님께서 우리 마음과 삶 속에 사십니다
바로 우리의 몸이 그분의 거룩한 영이 사시는 성전입니다
믿음으로 그리스도께서는 우리 마음에 사십니다
그러나 아직도 그분과 그분의 사람들 사이에는 불완전함이 있습니다
그러나 새로운 세상에서는 이 모든 것이 바뀔것입니다
하나님께서 참으로 완전하게 그분의 사람들과 사실 것입니다
What was the 'motto' of God's covenant with His people?
'I will be their God and they will be my people.'
Now during the Old Testament period, God dwelt among His own people Israel.
But this was an external relationship,
whereas through Jesus Christ He dwells in our hearts and lives.
Our very bodies are temples of His Holy Spirit.
Christ dwells in our hearts by faith.
But still there are imperfections in God's fellowships with His people.
But in the days of the new heaven and new earth, all this will be changed.
God will truly and perfectly live with His people.
다시 말하지만 하늘의 도시를 말할 때 가장 중요한 것은
하나님께서 우리와 함께 사실 것이란 사실입니다
인간이 영원히 사는 것이 하나님의 원래 계획이었습니다
인간의 역사는 에덴동산에서 시작해서 그 동산같은 하늘의 도시에서 끝납니다
창세기에서 시작한 것이 계시록에서 완성됩니다
이 도시에서 구약의 백성들과 신약의 백성들이 하나가 됩니다
Again, the most important thing about the city is that God dwells there with His people.
It was God's original design that man should live forever.
Human history begins in a Garden and ends in a City that is like a garden paradise.
What began in Genesis is completed in Revelation.
In this city, saints of the Old Covenant and the New Covenant will be united.
천국이 우리의 고향입니다
이 땅에서 우리는 외국인이며 순례자이며 낯선 사람들입니다
낯선이의 외로움, 순례자의 노고가 있습니다
우리는 아직 집에 도착하지 않았습니다
천국 출신인 우리는 하늘의 나라를 찾고 있습니다
Heaven is our home, our fatherland.
Here we are foreigners, pilgrims and strangers.
The heart of a stranger, the loneliness of a stranger, the efforts of the pilgrims, should be ours.
We are not at home. We are heaven-born, seeking the heavenly country.
천국에서 우리는 영원히 무엇을 하게 될까요?
창조주와 구원자 우리 아버지 하나님과 아들 예수님과 하나됨을 즐길것입니다
천국에서 우리의 관계는 완벽할 것입니다
이 땅에서 그분을 사랑하려 애쓸 때 우리는 끊임없이 죄와 약함의 어려움을 겪습니다
그러나 우리가 영원한 집에 도착할 때 모든 방해들은 사라질 것입니다
드디어 완벽한 환경에서 완벽한 사랑을!
What will we do in heaven for all eternity?
We will enjoy oneness with God the Father, the Creator and our Savior Jesus In heaven.
Our relationship will be perfect.
As we seek to love the Lord here on earth, we are constantly handicapped by sin and weakness;
but all hindrances will be gone when we get our eternal home.
At the end, perfect love in a perfect environment!
사람들은 정의를 원합니다
우리는 하나님의 사랑이 그분의 정의와 함께 움직임을 항상 기억해야만 합니다
그분의 진노를 말하지 않고는 그분의 축복은 의미가 없습니다
그분의 보상이나 벌 모두 우리가 상상할 수 없을 만큼 큽니다
계시록 21장은 분명하게 그분께서 자신의 회복시키는 사랑을 끈질기게 거부한 이들을
어떻게 다루실지 보여줍니다
People want justice.
We have to always remember that His love always goes with His righteousness.
Without mentioning His anger, His blessing will lose its meaning.
Both His reward and His punishment will be far greater than than we could dare imagine.
Revelation 21 clearly shows us
how He deals with those who rejected His recovering love tenaciously.
21:8 그러나 비겁한 자들과 신실하지 못한 자들과 가증한 자들과 살인자들과
음행하는 자들과 마술쟁이들과 우상 숭배자들과 모든 거짓말쟁이들이 차지할 몫은,
불과 유황이 타오르는 바다뿐이다. 이것이 둘째 사망이다."
21:27 속된 것은 무엇이나 그 도성에 들어가지 못하고,
가증한 일과 거짓을 행하는 자도 절대로 거기에 들어가지 못합니다.
다만 어린 양(하나님의 희생제물-예수님)의 생명책에 기록되어 있는 사람들만이 들어갈 수 있습니다
21: 8 But I will tell you what will happen to cowards
and to everyone who is unfaithful or dirty-minded
or who murders or is sexually immoral or uses witchcraft or worships idols or tells lies.
They will be thrown into that lake of fire and burning sulfur.
This is the second death...
21: 27 But nothing unworthy will be allowed to enter.
No one who is dirty-minded or who tells lies will be there.
Only those whose names are written in the Lamb(Jesus)'s book of life will be in the city.
오직 우리같은 죄인을 대신해서 십자가에 달려 죽으신 하나님의 어린양을 믿는 이들만이
하나님의 도시에 들어갑니다
오직 그분의 희생의 사랑만이 우리로 죄와 죽음의 힘을 극복하게 만듭니다
이런 승리자들과 대조적으로 8절은 죄에 지고 예수님을 거부한 이들을 보여줍니다
그들의 운명은 어떻습니까?
세상은 크리스천들이 실패자들이라고 하지만 진짜 실패자들은 예수님을 거부한 사람들입니다
Only those who have faith in the Lamb of God
who died on the cross instead of sinners like us will enter the city of God.
Only the sacrificial love of Jesus makes us overcome the power of sin and death.
In contrast to the overcomers, verse 8 describes the people who were overcome by sin
and would not trust the Lord.
What is their destiny?
The world considers Christians as "losers," but it is the unbelievers who are the losers!
사람들은 아름다움을 추구합니다
신비로움과 놀라움을 찾습니다
부를 갈망하고 가치에 씨름합니다
계시록 21장의 다양한 해석이 있지만 이 부분은 분명히
우리에게 천국이 얼마나 우리의 생각보다 아름다울지 보여준다고 믿습니다
People seek beauty.
People are looking for mysteries and wonders.
They long for wealth and struggle for something worth.
There are many different translations of Revelation 21,
but I believe that it surely shows us how much more beautiful heaven will be than we think.
21:18 그 성벽은 벽옥으로 쌓았고, 성은 맑은 수정과 같은 순금으로 되어 있었습니다.
그 성벽의 주춧돌들은 각색 보석으로 꾸며져 있었습니다.
첫째 주춧돌은 벽옥이요, 둘째는 사파이어요, 셋째는 옥수요, 넷째는 비취옥이요,
다섯째는 홍마노요, 여섯째는 홍옥수요, 일곱째는 황보석이요, 여덟째는 녹주석이요,
아홉째는 황옥이요, 열째는 녹옥수요, 열한째는 청옥이요, 열두째는 자수정이었습니다.
또 열두 대문은 열두 진주로 되어 있는데, 그 대문들이 각각 진주 한 개로 되어 있었습니다.
도시의 넓은 거리는 맑은 수정과 같은 순금이었습니다.
21: 18 The wall was built of jasper, and the city was made of pure gold, clear as crystal.
19 Each of the twelve foundations was a precious stone.
The first was jasper, the second was sapphire, the third was agate, the fourth was emerald,
20 the fifth was onyx, the sixth was carnelian, the seventh was chrysolite, the eighth was beryl,
the ninth was topaz, the tenth was chrysoprase, the eleventh was jacinth,
and the twelfth was amethyst. 21 Each of the twelve gates was a solid pearl.
The streets of the city were made of pure gold, clear as crystal.
우리 하나님은 아름다움의 하나님이십니다
그분은 그분의 아름다움을 그의 사람들을 위해 준비하시는
그 도시에 아낌없이 쏟아부으실 것입니다
영원한 도시는 너무나 경이로와서 요한이 설명한 최고의 방법은 현재와 대조하는 것이었습니다
더 이상...없다
천국의 시민들은 만족하며 살 것입니다
현재의 세상처럼 그곳도 물질적일 것입니다
우리의 부활한 육체가 강하고 아름다울 것인것처럼...
분명히 많은 흥미로운 질문들이 생기겠지만
그 영광스런 곳에 도착하기 전까지 성경을 넘어서서 대답되어져서는 안됩니다
Our God is a God of beauty,
and He will lavish His beauty on the city He is preparing for His people.
The eternal city is so wonderful that the best way John found to describe it was by contrast-
"no more."
The citizens of heaven are a satisfied people.
Like the present world, it will be material just as our resurrected bodies will be strong and beautiful. Certainly, many interesting questions could be asked about our future in heaven,
but most must go unanswered beyond the Bible until we reach our glorious home.
사람들은 승자가 되어 다스리고 싶어합니다
지혜롭고 권위있게 다스리기를 원합니다
계시록 22:5은 우리가 영원히 그럴 수 있다고 약속합니다
그 영원한 도시에서 우리는 새 하늘과 새 땅을 왕처럼 다스릴 것입니다
얼마나 큰 영광이며 은혜인가요?
People want to rule as victors.
People wish to rule with wisdom and authority.
Revelation 22:5 promises us to do that forever.
In the eternal state, we shall reign as kings over the new heavens and earth.
What an honor! What grace!
계시록의 주제는 예수님께서 승리자 이시며 그분을 믿는 이들도 승리자란 것입니다
The theme of Revelation is "Jesus is victor!" and so are the believers!
22:5 다시는 밤이 없고, 등불이나 햇빛이 필요 없습니다.
그것은 주 하나님께서 그들을 비추시기 때문입니다.
그들은 영원무궁 하도록 다스릴 것입니다.
22:5 Never again will night appear,
and no one who lives there will ever need a lamp or the sun.
The Lord God will be their light, and they will rule forever.
모든 교회들 가운데 잃어버린 천국 이야기가 회복되고 퍼져나가길 기도합니다
I keep praying that every church remembers and spreads our lost heaven story.
