Cliff Richard는 1940년 10월 14일 생으로 인도 렉크노에서 태어났으며
국적은 영국이고 본명은 해리 웹(Harry Rodger Webb)이다
미국이 엘비스 프레슬리라면 영국은 클리프 리챠드,
당시 영국의 최고의 아이돌스타로 영국의 팝의 우상이었다
59년에 'Living doll', 'Travellin' light' 등으로 인기를 얻었으며 다수의 영화에도
출연하기도 했다. 초창기의 락큰롤뿐 아니라 팝까지 분야를 넓힌 그는 60년도에도
'Please don't tease'와 'I love you'를 히트시켰으며 , 드디어 62년에 영화
"The Young Ones"의 주제곡이었던 'The young ones'로 전세계적인 대히트를
기록하며 세계 여러 나라를 순회공연하게 되었다.
98년에는 임창정, 고소영 주연의 영화 "해가 서쪽에서 뜬다면"에
'Early in the morning'이 사용되어 다시 히트하기도 했다.
